Kopaszi dam

The narrow Kopaszi dam in the southern part of Buda.was dotted with a variety of modest wooden barracks before an full regeneration in 2008. We proposed erecting the new pavilions on exactly the same spot as these old structures and employing a timber building typology characteristic of the waterfront with simple shape, steel frame and mostly timber detailing, to radiate some kind of timelessness and lightness. The outdoor areas has been also carefully also carefully landscaped by Garten Studio, so the area quickly became as one of the most popular public park for the habitants of Budapest. The project has won several prices and was nominated to the Mies van der Rohe Award.
